The creation of hand-colored Scanning-Electron-Microscopy (SEM) images is a multi-step process and requires perfectly adjusted preparation, carefully processed microscopic analysis and manually performed post-processing (‘coloration’). The latter involves scientific knowledge and the usage of powerful computers with appropriate software: Oh yes, Micronaut images are a lot of work… !

The following sections provide an overview on the individual steps of the production to give you an idea on how Micronaut’s color SEM images are created.
