The human retina consists of more than 100 million receptor cells. They are adapted to different wavelengths of light (red, blue, green), motion, and darkness or dark areas. Additionally, some are sensitive to “light on” and others to “light off”. Similar to a camera with 10-15 different films. A true masterpiece of evolution!
