For their excellent visualization of research, selected photographers of four categories, including microscopy, reportage, single image and innovation, were honoured by the jury, on 5th december 2009.

Micronaut’s series of images depicting the different shapes of florets from a composite flower (Bellis perennis) shed new light on evolution and have been awarded with the ‘German Prize for Scientific Photography 2009′ (DP 2009).

The award has an illustrous tradition and the annual celebration takes place in the classy ambiance of Bremen’s ‘House of Science’. In parallel, the winning images 2009 were presented to the press.
